Moorestown, NJ, August 7, 2020 — Tabula Rasa HealthCare® (TRHC) (NASDAQ: TRHC) a healthcare technology company advancing the field of medication safety, has obtained full accreditation by the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) Commission on Credentialing for eight years for its Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) residency. TRHC’s program provides residents with several rotation experiences, including total quality management, pharmaco-informatics, research, and scientific publication writing.
TRHC’s residency program consists of exposure to the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Call Center, allowing residents to play a pivotal role as members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams with the ability to impact patient care through various telepharmacy methods. The program also offers residents the opportunity to experience Enhanced Medication Therapy Management (EMTM) and clinical pharmacogenomics services, which are not available in most residency programs.
“The dexterity with leadership, management, and collaboration at Tabula Rasa HealthCare truly supports the foundation for this residency program and fosters pharmacists’ growth early in their career,” TRHC Chairman and CEO, Calvin H. Knowlton, PhD said. “ASHP accreditation status ensures TRHC’s residency program follows the same quality standards as traditional pharmacy roles in a non-traditional setting.”
A differentiation of TRHC’s program allows residents to experience their time in a business centered-pharmacy setting. Residents attain skills from the TRHC curriculum that enable them to practice in a wide range of pharmacy services and helps to develop new/emerging opportunities for pharmacists.
“Every resident at TRHC works closely with TRHC’s leadership team providing a unique opportunity to learn management skills and their clinical practice,” states TRHC Director, Pharmacy Practice Residency Programs, Nishita Shan Amin, PharmD. “Additionally, residents actively participate in educational programs, including lectures and publications, provided to TRHC’s more than 700 pharmacists regarding new information optimizing drug therapy.”
“The TRHC residency experience is a rare opportunity to gain a clinical perspective in an environment that focuses on medication safety and patient outcome,” said former PGY1 Resident Anna Furman. “The training is innovative and forward-thinking with supportive preceptors and passionate colleagues. I have progressed more than I ever imagined I could in just one year. TRHC has allowed me to see the profession of pharmacy and geriatric healthcare in a completely new light.”
