Robert Alesiani, Chief Pharmacotherapy Officer, shares insight with U.S. News & World Report for an article that sheds light on types of anxiety disorders and different medications. In particular, he highlights how benzodiazepines work.
Robert also discusses what an anxiety disorder is and addresses dependence on anti-anxiety medication. In addition, he notes that while some people might be seeking a quick fix, medications work better in conjunction with therapy.
According to Robert, “Just like for someone who has severe arthritis and needs a knee replacement – the knee replacement by itself is not the (whole) cure for the problem. They have to go through therapy to get back to what is considered normal.”
